if i have a popup killer, and i enter a website that has popups on it but the popup killer blocks them. so, will the website owner recieve money for the popups in my case(in the case that they are "killed" at "start")?

I would say no, but it would only be a guess.
FYI: If you use Mozilla, you don't need a separate pop-up blocker; it's built into the browser.

I was guessing no for any browser when used with a pop-up blocker, whether built-in to the browser or a separate program. I mentioned Mozilla b/c I think everybody should use it b/c it has a lot of nice features, one of which is a "smart" pop-up blocker, instead of filling their Windows machine with a bunch of spyware programs.

The person won't get paid, because the file that is inside the pop-ups never gets loaded, so it can't be registered as being shown.
I've noticed Mozilla's image blocking, which is great for getting rid of annoying animating adverts, still seems to load the images, it just doesn't show them to you. So in that case the site owner would think they've been shown to you, even if they haven't. (This might just be an odd effect I'm getting for previously shown adverts, but I'm sure I've seen some appear for a moment then get filtered.) |
