Hi
I have received a warning from adsense team that some bots and auto-surfing scripts are generating invalid clicks on my sites. I also noticed that bots are posting their products URLs in my articles comments though I dont approve them but this proves adsense claim because bots must be visiting the adsense ads links from my site. So how can I save my id and ban / deny these bots and auto-surfing scripts to generate clicks on my ads? Please share your wise words to help me to solve this problem with ads. thanks

I ve never received this kind of warning but thx for the heads up best thing is explain the situation to AdSense Support by a mail and ask their advice in this case Their advice is better then anyone else. but maybe there are other who went through same hell.. hope they will share their experience here.

I have already emailed adsense but didn't get any reply from them yet, i have told them that i am not doing it intentionally and am very willing to co-operate with them to avoid invalid clicks and also if adsense can track the invalid clicks they can also block the sources generating them on their end too ... anyway, i hope they will not block my id for doing nothing and just being attacked by bots and auto-surfing scripts.
I am very curious to listen from someone who has been through similar situation before though. |

If you want to ban the IP's that are sending the bots, be a little careful. There's always a chance that they could be spoofing the IP's and you'll be blocking innocent visitors. Unfortunately, it's very hard to tell what's real and what's faked. If they are the same over and over again, it should be a good enough reason to block them.
The best way to get these blocked is to talk to your hosting company, or to your companies IT tech and explain what's happened. Most hosting companies will be able to give you some idea of blocking IP addresses. I think if you use CPanel or something similar you can do it through there. Apart from this, it is also possible to block IP addresses thorugh your .htaccess file as far as I'm aware. I don't have any idea on the code for that, but I have seen it in my travels. Never know, it could be worth a look. |

I was also concerned about blocking IPs that if the spammers are using fake IPs I might block my fair visitors as my sites are of global subjects and they are used by people from different countries and I dont want to be harsh to any of my visitors.
so fingers crossed and looking for some resource that can help me to block auto-surfing and bots to generate false impressions or clicks.. though I am lost that if autosurfing and bots are even coming to my site how can they generate invalid clicks because that needs a javascript event for adsense and i am not sure if bots or autosurfing scripts can generate that event to call the ads and what will they get from this because their only purpose is to collect emails for spamming and post their products links to the sites why would they want to trouble anyone by targeting adsense ads on the sites as it is in the same place dangerous for them as their IPs could be blocked.... |
