Advertising website

Hi guys. Can somebody give me tips on how i can advertise my website? Im not experienced with advertising and the likes so please bear with me.

I'm aware of google adsense but it's off the allowable budget. Please give me links on other advertising sites that's much cheaper than google adsense thanks. I've already created some .gif banners so its ready to attach. The budget is around 10$ a day.

Have you considered joining a group of affiliates?
Google adsense is ppc so if you're getting lots of clicks and having to pay more than $10 a day, isn't that good?
You can also take advantage of things like forums. For example, as long as your site isn't a competitor of devshed's, feel free to put a link in your sig.

I see. I thought putting a link on your sig is against EULA. Well, anyway i'm not familiar with affiliates. Can you shed a light about affiliates? What should be my first step?

IMO those affiliate things never do you too much good. I would say get some cash and hire someone who is good at his job, or decide it's not worth financing that sort of advertising, and just let people come as they find it. (just leave links on your sig or whatnot).

With the size of the internet, your not going to get any exposure doing the same free/cheap advertising that millions of other websites do.

In other words, any helpful suggestions? Just wanna learn website advertising and I have a given a budget for that so I will give it a shot in what way or another.

First, make sure you have good content, properly setup for SEO. Have your buddies with websites put *meaningful* links to your site.

Make sure that googling for key words on your site gets you listed in the first two pages. Then pay for ads.

Well, affiliate things don't do too much good if your affiliates (and/or you) suck. If you find a decent group of websites, and you get free traffic as long as you have the ads on your page, then we're all good. An unobtrusive ad that won't piss anyone off in exchange for traffic should be a no-brainer.

And I like what fish is saying, though I should hope you've already done the SEO things. Devshed even has an SEO section (what was it, forums.seochat.com?)

And putting links in your sig is fine, it's banners that aren't allowed.

I tried googling for keywords and I cant find my site on the first 10 pages in google. Tough luck I cant even tell the page rank of it.

As already stated:
get fresh content on site frequently
ensure you have a site-map submitted to Google & yahoo
make sure your site is SE optimized (titles, semantics, urls)
put links in your signature
(they don't carry much weight really, but gets you noticed on Yahoo!)
get reciprocal links from similar (well rated) sites
Use viral content creation & promotion techniques
