another more general question about search engine optimization
as I said in my previous post, of all the things I have ever wanted to learn, it seems that search engine optimization and web positioning is a dark art, something that a lot of people know but no one is kind enough to share. I see a lot of websites very well positioned in the web and Im sure that they arent paying big sums of money to do it. What I really want to know from experts, even if you do not want to share your darkest tips with me, is the following:
Is it possible to position a website properly without having to pay a lot of money to yahoo and google? if no, then what is the best option that you know for a paying service? I want to be sure that my money is going to help my website get traffic. I payed to get listed in yahoo directories and Im running in my second year but Im very upset because it didnt help my site at all, Im not receiving enough traffic and I think my 250 dollars would better go somewhere else, any advice? Any help or tip that you could give me would be appreciatted, my website is about condo rentals in the caribbean and I dont have a huge budget, but I would pay something if its worth the traffic, thanks !!!! |

yest, you can pay almost no money and have great result, all other so called dark secrets are based on html, and its word content, if you know basics, its everything u need to know, just use it well, dont over do it, keep it in size of two tree words in combos, use all atributes that would indecate and describe the tag verbely. so on and so forth, web site needs apetern, that you stick to, so there are no big bums that bot will run into, well bot doesnt really care it just indexes stuff, but i am talking about the rulles that were given to bot and the system that then ranks everything.

what do you mean by saying "keep it in size of two or three word combos" ? could you explain? thanks.
By the way what would you say about this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Cancun, villas, hotel, condos, solymar, playa, penthouse, oceanview, caribe, caribbean, rentals, Mexico, vacations, vacaciones, playa"> <META NAME="description¨CONTENT="Cancun condorentals offers condos for rental in Cancun, the mexican caribbean. We offer studios, villas and penthouses for rent as well as other travel services."> <title>Condos in the mexican caribbean: Villas, studios and penthouse</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> Sorry to kind of repeat my post, but I wanted to be more clear with what I was saying |

OK one key word represents general meaning, combination of two key words represent specifics,
compare: Mexico or Mexico Vacations the more specific you are on the subject the better it is, nothing more, as i said be specific, and constant. |
