Google's PR is based on how many links you have pointing to your site. Get links from other sites and your PR will go up. When you get links, try and have the links done using anchortext with your keywords.

Get links from external sites to your site.

1) put your site url into your signature file while participating in forum discussion;
2) search Google for directories where you submit your site;
3) simply ask for a link when you find related sites which have link or rsources pages;
4) trade links with related sites.
5) if your site has interested and useful content, other sites will link to yours slowly but eventually.

If I am correct, spiders do not check forum signatures.

They do as my posts have appeared in google before. It is possible to be 3rd from the top with a pr of only 3, as i am. I think this is de to the number of links etc to and from my site.

They absolutely DO read and index forum sigs!! And profiles.

If your site isn't listed in either of those, your throwing away potential hits and results.

Google is at my sites every 15 minutes to an hour as a result of the DevShed forum sig alone!
Just make sure you've done the work on the other end to keep the bots interested and coming back.

Some forums are not spiderable by the bots. A signature link in a forum that is not spiderable may get you some traffic, but will never "count" as link. The bots will never even see the pages in these forums so they obviously won't ever pick up the link.

A lot of forums are spiderable (vBulletin is spiderable out of the box) and sig links from those forums do "count".

I know I get a couple links from this forum, so it's spiderable.

even for vbuletin, it's upto the admin to set the policy for sig file.

Yes, i get quite a few hits from signatures. I'm not in for the hits though, it's the anchortext in the sig that is worth its weight in gold

A good way to improve your pr is:

Do services like webstats (because it can help the number of links)

I hope i can help you,

Higher page rank

I have also found that my posts in forums do show up as backlinks. However, you just have to check to see if the forum page has a PR. If it doesn't, then it won't help.

Any thoughts on how my site:
http://www.forecaddiegolf.com

can improve its PR?

AJ
