Are backlinks really matters?

Hello Friends,

You might have seen that websites with less backlinks are ranked on top positions in Search Engines. Some of them are brand new websites so there is no issue of also Domain Age.

So search engines have less value for backlinks? are backlinks really important? If important, Why?

Im note SEO expert but as far as i know they are important...bt are not just backlinks from anywhere they should be related to your site...for example if you sell computers will not work if you have alot of backlinks from unrelated sites like a jewerly or any other site that have no relation wit your niche. Also keep in mind when google or other serps scan those links they must find a valuable information when they follow the link...anchor text linking it back also do matters btw.

Search engines such as Google rank webpages in their index according to the amount of backlinks they have. Take for example, a website that has 5 backlinks versus a website that has 100. Google (or any other search engine) will find the website with 100 backlinks more popular and rank them higher than the website with only 5 backlinks. The only exception to this is relevance. For example, even though the website with 100 backlinks has more links than the website with 5, if the links are not relevant to the content on the website, Google will eventually rank the website with 5 backlinks higher than the website with 100.

There's backlinks and there's backlinks... How you get them and where they come from is far more important then how many you have.

Firstly, you want to avoid reciprocal linking as much as possible. When Google sees a link from one site, and back to the first site, both links get devalued greatly. Theve' also taken this to three-way links, and possible more then three-way, so this is not a good thing to rely on.

What you need are natural one-way links, the sort of thing where someone else likes your site, and decides to link to it themselves. They are the hardest ones to get, but are worth a LOT more in terms or getting your ranking higher. You can get these in a lot of different ways, and as long as they are one-way and are as natural as possible, then they'll be good.

If you want some real good links, find a way to get a direct link from a good .edu or .gov site as these are like gold becaue they are pretyt much always highly regulated with what they can and can't have on there. Because of this, getting a link from these sort o fdomains is pretty &*^*%ing hard.

Why are backlinks important?

Backlinks are important because they are seen as a type of credit given to you from other webmasters. Search engines give you more status for quality backlinks, especially if they are from other sites within your niche. The more status a site has, the higher it will rank (this is especially true in competitive niches).

If for example your site is geared for travelers, a backlink from a cruise site will give you great “bonus” points in the eyes of Google – especially if that site has a strong PR.

When you receive a link from another site administrator it is like a token of appreciation that they appreciate your content. The more of these links you get, the higher your website will rank. If those links contain proper anchor text, featuring the keyword(s) you want to rank for it is even better for you.

yes, backlinks are really important for gaining good page rank as well as top the search engine positions. Focus on the main keyword of your website while building backlinks. It gives more value when it get indexed for the main keyword itself.

Hey...

Back Links play important role in search engine rankings but rankings does not depend upon back links only. There are other factors also that are responsible for search engine ranking. If your website has poor on site optimization then only back links will not provide you good rankings. and if your on site factors are good and your website has no back link then you will not get good rankings. There are many factors that are responsible for search engine rankings

Link building is the heart and soul of any organic SEO process. Search engine algorithms determine page rank based on a formula that factors in quality of content, number of links, and the quality of the sites where those links are posted.

Link Building

Back links are the source for the crawlers to reach your website. The more number of Back links provides different path for spider to reach and crawl your website. o these are really important part regarding the rank.
