I do not know SEO as of now. I need to find out what the best book or books are in the bookstores for learning SEO. Any suggestions?

The problem with reading a book on this topic is:
1. No one for certain knows except Google/Yahoo/MSN how there process works 2. The process changes so frequently a book published today would be out dated in a few months. My suggestion is to read through forums and ask questions. |

Thanks for the replies everyone......I guess my next question is "would it be wise to go ahead and purchase some SEO software now, or wait until after I do some learning from forums, ect?" Thanks again, Elrod |

Personally I would not purchase any software. Most of these SEO software tools submit your site to many link farms hurting your site more then helping. Yes you will see a quick gain but you will also find yourself with a quicker decline.
The trick for you is to get quality inbound links to your site using anchor tags. If you sell Potato Pancakes then you will want to have as many unique sites pointing back to you with the link text using Potato Pancakes. The minimum SEO on your site should be meta tags and quality unique content. I may have over simplified it but really to get up in Google on 2 or more works is not a very difficult task. |
