Thumbs up Best practices of seo for top rankings

Here are some key factors when applying Search Engine Optimization .

1. On the main page, include what the business is about and list what services are provided. Use content specific keywords to describe the business. Try to find keywords or a keyphrase that best fits your niche that other websites may not have. This is very important, if you can, choose keywords or a keyphrase that is in-part or a whole URL.

2. New content that updates on a daily basis is a must have for a website. This gives the search engine spyders a reason to come back and crawl the website gathering new information. One way to have new content is to include a RSS feed. Include paragraphs with content specific information for the page that you are writing about, and again make sure to include specific keywords of what is being described.

3. Make the site search engine friendly. By this we mean include links to all the pages, and make sure they are not broken. Most important pages of a website should only be two clicks away from the home page.

4. A little bit of flash is ok, but be careful not to add to much as flash confuses the search engine spyders that crawl the website gathering important information.

5. Try not to include redirects to other pages as this confuses the search engine spyders as well. If you must use a redirect then try using a mouse over redirect.

6. Include a Related Links page in the website that is being search engine optimized. The websites that link to you should be based on the same concept of your website, in return this gives relative information that the website is important and helps out the PageRank. Include links to other websites that are relative to the website that is being search engine optimized. When requesting or giving information for a reciprocal link let the webmaster or individual know what kind of link you want back. If you have a page with the topic Wireless Handheld Advertising, use that keyphrase for your link-back, as well you may want to send an e-mail to webmasters asking to include a link to your website. Here is a free link popularity checker tool.

7. Having a Site Map that links to every page in a website is very important and is not only a good page to have to direct your visitors but is a quick way to have all your pages included in the search engines. Make sure the sitemap is linked from the main page as this will give direction to all the website pages for search engine spyders.

8. When using search engine optimization techniques use correlation for each page you optimize. We give an example of correlation from our wireless handheld advertising page that leads you to this page Free Cell Phone Screensavers. Use correlating keywords for content, directions and the URL as well. Search Engines see this correlation as related content and relative information that of course is based on the topic of the page that is optimized for search engines.
