What is the best technique for indexing a new site in google?
I have been using social bookmarking with good success, but I was wondering what everyone else is doing. |

Make sure your content is keyword rich, also your titles of the pages need to have a good keyword weight.

There's only one answer to this question... You want ot be indexed you need:
LINKS That's all it is, pure and simple. How you get them is up to you. |

excuse my ignorance, but what is social bookmarking?

META tags AFAIK died with the great evangelical push of porn keywords to win sinners back into the fold as it were ..., at that time, there were ways to deal with it, but suffice to say "way to f*ck up a system ... godboys"

kk... so what is social bookmarking?
Is it just swapping links on pages with others? |

The fastest way I have found to get a new site indexed by google is to
start a google webmaster tools account Add the site you want indexed to the account add either a meta tag or upload an html page to get verified on the webmaster tools account upload a sitemap to your webserver submit the sitemap to google webmaster tools All in all about 10 minutes of work at the most and your pages should start to be indexed by google within a week or so - you can also set the crawl rate to faster if its allowed in the options.

Another option is to submit content to DIGG or other social networking sites. not only will this give you increased hits it will also get you indexed onto google within an hour in most cases.

... and possibly decrease the relevance of these social networking sites as far as google is concerned, ... I know it's what I'd do

In terms of things that have been digg'ed under 50 times yes. But when google looks at these articles it also looks at the number of hits. Therefore they can see what things are more popular and therefore will not degrade the value of popular links |

If you have a few dollars to spend get a service such as Rentacoder to submit to all the social bookmarking sites for you. It will get you some traffic (not lots in my opinion unless it becomes a popular post) but the real advantage is that you will be indexed almost immediately. One of my casino and gambling sites was indexed just 10 minutes later, and casino related traffic from other casino users also increased.
To submit manually to 100 sites you will expect to pay around $30.
