Emailing people cold is very unlikely to work. Most emails get no results, it takes too long - and if you go for the hammer approach of mass emails then you will get stuck in filters and get into lots of hassle.

This is true, you would be better off going for an advertising approach. At least you will get people who are generally interested in your product.

one way directory submission, article posting, link reciprocating with quality and very high PR website, blogs and forum posting, social bookmarking are only the right ways to get back links.
In my opinion if someone done all these work with high quantity then he has gain the good ranking in major search engines.

Hmm, ok, I googled it up to find out what link baiting means, it seems to me like just another buzz word for "quality content", no?

Sort of.
I personally class it as tools TBH and not as much content.

But technically it is something that you put on your site that baits other web masters to link to you.

Think fishing.

You put a worm on your hook, you catch a fish.

Now SEO wise the worm is something of value that people want to link to, be it content or a tool, and rather than you catching dinner you get a link instead.

You could also try one of the backlinks services, such as gotlinks. To be honest the link quality will be very low - but they still count. If I view Google backlinks I see a lot of those links to my sites.

Worth trying. Remember that all links count, even poor quality ones. Many people ignore low quality links but dont look a gift horse in the mouth!

Yes - thats a simpler way of saying it. Link Baiting is basically creating stuff that other people want to link to. It can be a great article, or a game, or an interesting "How to" list.

The idea is that once a few people find it they talk about it in a forum or link to it from their site. Hard to get great link bait, but once you have it all your work is done for you!

Good luck. Hope that helps.

Link popularity really is about the importance of the source page. Directories are often well-trusted sites. But so are many many other places that you link or content could be featured on.

Build it good and they will come!

The more I think about it, the more I realise how brilliant blogs are. I couldn't recommend one any more (or several)
