buy keywords on google?
The owner of a site I maintain has heard that he can buy keywords on google which will take immediate effect to direct traffic to his site.
I was unable to find anything like this on google. I did find AdWords, which allows us to create an ad that relevant websites may pick up and display.. this is a pay-per-click kind of thing. That is not what he is looking for. Is there such a thing as being able to simply buy keywords from google without any ads or pay-per-click? thanks!

You cant buy keywords from Google, only paid for placements using Adwords.
Microsoft used to sell keywords that were activated in the URL for people that couldn't type the full URL. I dont know if that still exists.
