Unhappy Can't get new pages into Google - Help!

Hi SEO experts,

I completely updated my site back in July and as a result of this, the paths to nearly all of my pages has changed.

I now have more descriptive urls.

i.e.
http://www.tophatweddings.co.uk/wedding_favours/
http://www.tophatweddings.co.uk/wedding_planning_books/

I was receiving good traffic prior to the update because all my pages were included in Google. (all pages shown when doing "site:www.tophatweddings.co.uk" in a google search).

However, now when I do a "site:www.tophatweddings.co.uk" in Google, I get 6 pages returned and they don't even exist anymore! None of my new pages are in google.

Has anyone experienced this kind of delay when getting new pages into Google? or is there something wrong with the structure of my site that is preventing Google from adding my new pages?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. ( and your help is needed!)

hmm...although i can't really answer your question, i would suggest creating a google sitemap for you site...it's pretty straightforward, and you can just create it as a .txt file.

then create a google account, load it up, and ur all good. seems to help google index sites more efficiently.

hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I have a site map but since starting this thread above I may have found a clue.

I read that using links that begin with a forward slash cannot be crawled by Google. (href="/directory_name/"). I have now changed to full paths.....sounds strange but maybe worth a try.....
