Changing the desc of a website on google

Hi All,

I am a programmer working for a non-profit organization.

I am using meta tags/descrption on our web pages. But for some reason, when I do a search on google for my website, it shows a totally different text.

Eg:

I searched for "cnn.com" across google, yahoo, astlavista, msn search. Excpet for googlle all others seem to be displaying the same description.

Am wondering , as to how I can make it same across all the search engines.

is your site listed on dmoz.org ? if so, google may take the description from there
