everyone knows content is king, but other than the obvious advantages for your visitors. What are the SEO related advantages to having a lot of updated quality daily content?

you'll get more natural backlinks which in turn will improve your SERP of you have good content. sites with regular content update have a higher scores on content freshness, which is one of factors in determining SERPs.

I read that as a good guide you should aim to add one page of new and genuine (ie. well written, not copied) content a day. If you do that the rest of SEO comes easily.

Of course, it helps to bear in mind SEO when writing the content, so that you can include keywords, but the main thing is that it is interesting and readable.

I cannot provide a solid proof, but from what I've been observing, having original content seems to attract SE crawlers more. Sometimes it's kind of difficult to let Yahoo to crawl your website and index all pages, but having original content seems to help.
