Dissapearing website SE Result

A website I created and manage was getting great PR for the search key words that we wanted. Now I made changes to the site now it is a flash site embeded in an html page and poof it is gone. I am non existant on Google and Yahoo unless you type the name of the website. We went from a 2nd-3rd ranking to nothing at all. My meta tags did not change, the changes to the index file are as follows.

Before: a couple of graphics and 2 links (that's it)
Now: embeded flash, today I put in some html text and 1 link in hopes that they would help.

Any suggestions as to why we would get dropped like that and how to get back in good PR?

This is not a site with questionable content, it for a serious company.

Well, although Google will spider what's inside a Flash file, it doesn't like content buried like that so that's probably what penalised you.

I'd suggest putting back both the links you had before as links in HTML, and if you had any text as well to put that in HTML rather than Flash. Generally you shouldn't get ranked well just for a couple of links, it takes useful text around them as well, but if that was working for you then get it back in your page!

It'll still take a while for Google to find you again, but once you've changed the page you could re-submit that page through the Add URL page. That should get it checked and re-spidered slightly more quickly than it would naturally. (NB: Don't do this to pages that haven't been changed since they were last spidered as they can be penalised.)
