Do any "add your link to 1 MILL pages" work?

I know that Google takes into account how many links point to a website while it is calculating it's importance.

I tried one of those deals where you add your link to 600,000 webpage deals and I don't see any of them when I do link:mysite.com on Google.

Do any of these actually work? Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with these? Does anyone have any recommendations?

The best way to raise your page rank through external links is by supplying content that a lot of other (content) providers want to link to as a service to their own users/visitors...
...the keyword being "content"

the closer your own content is in nature to the sites that link back to you the more the more effective the links are in Google's eyes...

just curious...what is the subject of your site?

Do you happen to know where your 600,000 links were posted?

You're probably on a number of "link-farms", and Google isn't going to like that whenever it sees them. You'll probably get penalized or removed from their results... that wasn't a good move. Even if you're not on those bad pages, the search engines will notice a HUGE leap in the number of links to your site in a very small period of time, so that will hurt your site too. You can't fool the Search Engines very easily...

Also, don't rely on the "link:www.domain.com" feature on the SERPs... it's not accurate.

TRUE:

"link:bindingdesigns.com" returns no results

"bindingdesigns.com" returns about 50 results

I got the deal from dot 9 web hosting . com

...

From my experince, it was a RIP OFF!!!!! A HUGE RIP OFF!!!! I can't even find one of my url texts found in a result yet I find all of my manually posted links such as Stumble or Facebook in search results........ I learned that I hard way

one other thing... what good are 600,000 crappy links that won't send any traffic to your site? Google can tell the difference between quality and crappy links, so that many bad links doesn't really do you any good for PR anyways...

Although i agree it wasn't a good move I doubt it is going to remove you from search results. If that was the case I could by one of the FFA scams for $20 for each of my competing websites and get listed number 1.

OK, thanks. I figured it was just a loss. I have not found one inbound link to my site in any of the major search engines. My ranking have not seemed to change. That is a good point. If it hurt the rankings, then competitors could harm other sites.

That is actually dangerous. AdSense does not allow that. If someone has a AdSense on their site, a competitor could buy one of those 1 MILL visitors for $19.95 and get their AdSense account potentially disabled.

Also keep in mind that google reindexes sites with higher PR more often. So if you are just starting out google will not reindex and evaluate your rankings as frequently. I could take a month or two for them to revisit you and alter rankings maybe longer.
