After the EMD Update do you think keywords in domains still have value ?
After the exact match domain update by Google some sites have taken a hit. One site I knew that ranked no 1 in Google went down to 3rd page. But I still feel there's some merit in having keywords in your domain name. You just have to back it up with some decent content. What do you guys think about the EMD update?

All those EMD sites taken hit from google is not only for EMD but there has also other things related. If you search that carefully you will get that.

Every algorithm update has brought some good things for SEO. Now the EMD. You cannot simply rank high because you have exact domain.
However, it should be noted that the site with good content related to your keyword and domain name still ranks top in search

Yes, It will still have some value provided it is used as per guidelines issued by Google on EMD. If your site has good Backlink Profile and a very good content, Exact match domain will be valued but if your site is of low quality content and poor link building profile, EMD will be worthless as your site may get penalised after the update.

Still be valuable in domain, dude. Your domain is all about your site about! You're a doctor and started a new website as Health, so you can't register a domain relates to other subject like: moto, racing, gamble..... . Furthermore, good keywords in domain make your site get better ranking compare to your competitor for sure!

According to the latest update your website should not contain your primary keyword as an exact match like if you are targeting dental hospital then your domain should not be dentalhospital.com. If you have a domain with you which is an EMD then put high quality content on it and try to add content on a regular basis. Never create low quality links pointing to your website as low quality links can affect the site in the negative manner.

Posting quality and unique content can be helpful. Basically people just update such domain with the spammy posts including a lot of keyword stuffing so this should not be done. You can also update the content that is related to the niche but from different segment.

EMD updates has just penalized only few site not all sites which are using keywords in the domain. And with the penalization ranking drops the site doesn't goes into Google sandbox. With unique content do link building and few months the same domain can dominate the keyword ranking as it did earlier.

Before it (EMD Update) websites having keyword in their domain has privilege for being ranked. Now on wards any site will be ranked on other parameters than availability of keyword in domain name.

Guys EMD was updated to just stop Domain Keyword Spamming. It means you can't just depend on Exact match domain to rank your site that is simple. It will only effect the site that tried to rank merely on basis of exact domain with low quality content and poor backlinks. Your website will still rank high and will have high authority in Google SERP if you genuinely have good content written for your visitors.

if you make it a quality website than i think its still good. EMD having too many keywords, hyphens, and thin websites seems being punished. If you are really doing quality work for your website I donít think its worth

The update has affected mostly the website which has keyword in the domain name and the website are of poor quality. If the website has keyword oriented domain name then it should maintain the quality of the website as per google guidelines.
