Getting my site off the ground

Hey all,

Just wondering if you have any tips on getting my site off the ground, it is a Guitar Classifieds website, I am advertising in the web directory of The Magazine Guitarist next month so ill see if that brings in some visitors, any other ideas?

if you mean on targetted advertisement, as always, I'd suggest using AdWords https://adwords.google.com/

if you mean on SEO, for the beginning change your title tag to include some targetted keywords & get more links pointing to your site.

Thanks, title has been changed now to include some of my keywords.

I am pulling towards googles adwords but after I have paid for this magazine advert I cant really afford it, if it hits off from this advert then i'm there but until then..

Decide for a primary set of keywords... "sell guitar" or "sell guitar online" and focus on it. Get as many inbound links/anchors pointing to your site with selected kw set (speaking about Google, which is engine #1, Yahoo uses different methods for determing its WebRank) and that should be it. Read Link Exchange guide in my signature and follow it - exchange links only with targetted and high quality sites etc. Link popularity building is a time eating so if you want quick turn around id again suggest using adwords. Still, I can guarantee you that your site can be in top10 @ Google in couple of months, if you pick keywords I mentioned.
