Getting Other Pages in Site to Display Under Main Title in Google Searches
I never really thought of this before, but what tag do I need, or how do I go about getting different sections, or pages in my site to appear as links under the main title line of my site in a Google search?
What I mean is, you've all probably been to sites, especially musicians' Web sites, where you enter their name in Google, and when search results are returned, the link to the index page of the site, with the description and title and all is on top... then there will be a few other single-line links under that such as "bio,"join fan club," and what not. An example would be to search for "Metallica" in Google. I've tried to look through the source code for these pages and I can't identify anything that would create that function. If it's very complicated at all, a link to some online tutorial or something is fine. Thanks! |

There is nothing you can do buddy.
They are automatically generated by algorithums not humans. Once you have them by going into webmaster tools I do believe you can shape them but you have to get them first. Sites that get them tend to have lots of traffic so TBH all you can do is make your site useful. Also these are called "site links", Google came up with them first but Yahoo! and Live both offer them as well. Jaz |

It can be done but is difficult as jaza said, the thing I have found to be most effective is to use subdomains. For some reason these are liked by google and it is not to difficult to get 2-4 subdomains on the same google search page. Though in doing this you will need to make sure you have lots of links to the site as each additional page requires more backlinks, hits, etc. Give it a try and see how you get on. Would be interesting to hear how it goes for you. |

I did a google search of "do subdomains help PR with google?" and everypage seemed to say that google likes subdomains

I dont have publicly accessable sub domains nor plan on having any that will be search engine accessable either, but from my understanding, I used Prizzle's search term in Live and got preety much the same results, is that they are treated as sperate domains.
Now yes this will help with ranking on the same term multiple times, if this is still right as all the examples I read where all from 2006 which TBH in the SEO game is as useful as, pardon the expression, "taking a knife to a gun fight" due to how quickly this industry changes. Now for site links, if the search engine treat sub domains as seperate sites then this is going to be a hinderance not a benefit, surely. Jaz |

I dont believe there is anything at all that will help this to be created in Google's SERPs for you. They determine the sites based on traffic volumes and perhaps a few other secret ingredients.
In terms of how they actually create the submenus I dont know, but I suspect they use elements from the main navigation bar (quite easy to identify as each page repeats the navigation links).
