Hi

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but does anyone know how to check what people find on your site via Google Images?

Not just 'site:vinylsurrender.com' and all the site related graphics, but all graphics that are listed in GI for your site?

From looking at my stats and searching GI on specific key search phrases I can NEVER find any graphics from my site, never, just my own graphics. And yet, I get a fair few hits via Google Images - at least my statistics say so. I just don't know what people are finding.

Any ideas?

As you probably know you can see all Images Google has cached for your site by doing 'site:vinylsurrender.com' and choosing search the web for images.

You can also search for keyword related cached site images by doing 'site:vinylsurrender.com keyword' - album in this case - and again searching for images.

Do you use Google Analytics? You can set goal tracking, keyword conversions and a whole host of site performance tasks with it. You may well be able to get the info you are after by using that tool.

Depending on your hosting server, one of the best ways to find the phrases that people are using ot find your site is a good stats package. the main one that gets used is probably Webalizer. that shows you who's visited, how many times, etc. As for saying who's come through images vs. page text, that's almost impossible to tell. But, if you know your site you'll be able to look at these results yourself and soon find out what people are using to find your site, and it won't be a big mystery.
