Same Issue
I have pretty much the same problem. I show up on Yahoo, but not google at all. I read from various places not to submit your site to google and I did not. I have done all sorts of keyword optimization, created a sitemap, and actaully have a couple rss feeds. I checked my pagerank and am still 0. I only have a couple inbound links from small sites because I've only been around for a couple weeks. I have been crawled by google several times, but no results.
1. How long can it take to show up on google. 2. Do you have to have a page rank to show up at all? It is not supposed to be 100% of their calculations. 3. Is it true that you shouldn't submit to the search engines? |

if you have a pagerank its a fairly good indicator of how well you will show up.
What you need to do is go to google and enter the url of your site. If it returns the result then youre in the index, if it doesnt youre not. What is also helpful is to get links on high pagerank sites. I achieved this by mirroring two pieces of opensource software so that i get my link on their download pages. In fact googling for my company name puts those results ahead of my page ![]() |

keep build quality and relevant links and be patient. A big part of Google's ranking algorithm is link age and relevance.

This is NORMAL!!! Don't panic. Firstly, how old is your site? If the site the way it is now has been up for less then a year, don't expect to much. Google sandboxes sites for anywhere between 6 months to 1 1/2 years. As mentioned before, the only way to make sure that your site will be good when it gets out of the sandbox is to collect more backlinks, and that way when you're going well, you'll have a good boost. Remember, Google is still the hardest SE to crack, it take s alot of time, patience and persistance. Stick at it and just keep going. |
