Google is now crawling all over my site...

Hi there,

Up until recently my site wasn't being touched by Google.

Until last week, when I changed the format of the navigational links on my site from

a href="/directory-name/"
to
a href="/directory-name/index.php"

Then I resubmitted my google sitemap.

I also have someone at my work who claims to have "sent" the Googlebot to my site to assist me.

What I want to know is what could he have done to sent Googlebot to my site?

one possibility is adding my URL to a high PR site, what are the other possibilities?

He possably went here. Other then other links & google spidering from there, I'm not aware of any other way of "sending a googlebot" anywhere.

I have found the same. Google appears to index www.site.com/link/ differently to the www.site.com/link/index.php page. The homepage will even appear seperately in Google's SERPs once for each entry if you use them.

Best thing to do is to be consistent with the format of the links. Absolute links seem to work better than relative ones - though on the downside they do make updating pages a pain.
