Google's Cache - How does it work?
I'm curious why the cached version of my site is appearing so differently than the current version. I don't mean content. I know it takes awhile for the content to update. However, the layout of my site seems to go to crap when it is viewed in Google’s cache. I'm wondering why this is?
Do you think there is a browser that could be used to measure how a site will appear when viewed in Google’s cached version? Does Google store the external CSS and other such files when a site is cached? In any case my site's layout shouldn't be suffering as it should work fine with my current external CSS. My site: www.dustyreagan.com Google's Cache: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:...&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

I took a screen shot here of how the site is showing up to me. I have no idea why it does that! I cleared my browser cache and now the background is showing up correctly, but it is still cockeyed when viewed in google cache.
I wonder why it looks ok yours... maybe I should try looking on a computer I know hasn't cached the site yet. Even more curious... my cached page has a ranking of 3... my main page has a 2! (as seen in google toolbar). Weird. |
