Someone mentioned to me that Google has over the past few months changed their PR calculation method.

Is there any truth to that statement? If so, what changes have been made?

I think they are always changing their algorithm to improve the search results.

Google didn't change PR calculation method. They added new criteria for filtering out link spam.
