Does Google rate this:
www.foo.com/page.html Any different/more/less important than this: www.foo.com/page/ I know with URLs like: www.foo.com/folder/folder/folder/folder/etc/ ...it does make a difference. I am speaking specifically of one folder versus one page. Thanks. |

well the only thing that will happen with the folder is possibly give you another key term, before you have a index file. If think that if there were any diffrence in the rankings it would be minute.
It's almost a challenge between how many key words are in the folder versus how many are in the filename of the page. |

Thank you for responding but I am not sure this really answers the question. I also think you are sharing your opinion rather than stating what you know to be factual.
The "folder" is a URL in the same way any other URL is, "page" or otherwise. Anyway, "/folder/" is the same as "/folder/index.html" from the web server's perspective. My question is connected with Google's importance/ranking of URLs within a website's navigational hierarchy. |

I don't beleive there is a diffrence in the way google ranks them.
