Google Sitemap
Hi,
no matter what I try, when I try and create a google sitemap of: http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/ (half the time it says site doesn't exist) and 100% of the time it says the link from the first post (http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/reading2006/) doesn't work Any ideas? Thanks! JJ

Hi,
If I have misunderstood your problem, apologies. Generate a google compliant sitemap with the URL you posted from sitemapspal. I tried before posting with no problems at all. Although the map is static it should get you started but looking at your site you should look into generating the map dynamically because it'll be a lot easier than resubmitting maps to reflect new content.

No worries - you sought have got there...
... however, my first post points to http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/reading2006/ which when put through that link or any other google sitemap generator, displays nothing whatsoever - even if it you just put in that URL (http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/reading2006/) Any ideas? |

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> ... <url> <loc>http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/reading-festival-2006-latest-industry-news/</loc> <lastmod>2006-11-07</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.0</priority> </url> ... Above is a snippet from the map I mentioned earlier which contained 25 links to internal pages of your site. The only thing I can think of is the generated URL-with-the-search-friendly-addresses may be an issue once you try drilling down a couple of directories, although why that would be the case beats me. Might be worth reading the webmaster help to see if there is any string length limit for urls in sitemaps. Might also be worth making your own sitemap (with a couple of <loc>'s but with full 2 directories to rule out a limit issue with the generating prog. |

Cheers - I can get to all pages and directories apart from the ones located in: http://strictlyreading.co.uk/reading2006/ I'll have to see what's up :-( |
