Google won't spider my ste
The site that I've taken over is still not indexed by Google after many months.
Only homepage has been indexed but googlebot seems to get no further. I've generated a google sitemap and added plain text navigation to it (previously had only Javascript and Flash navigation links). So it should be able to find the it's way to the rest of the site. Could it be due to W3C validation errors? I still have a couple of errors to debug with regard to inherited javascript from original designers. |

Are you using meta tags or robots.txt?

Minor warnings from W3C validation should not hinder any indexing process.
Have the bots visited your site after you have switched to text links navigation system? |

Yes, bots have been through - home page was reindexed by googlebot this week, but it didn't go to any of my other pages.
Can't put the URL in cos I'm a newbie... address is www scollihombre dot com maybe it's something obvious but i just can't see what's wrong - no errors reported by google webmaster tools at all. |

It's indexed my top level pages but hasn't gone to my products pages (all standard htm).
Also, the cached images for most of the site are from March and the whole site has changed since then! I even generated the blinkin' sitemap to try to "help" google along. Anyone have ideas why it won't index my products? (they're all in the subdirectory acatalog). |

hi,
google is crawling your site(only home page.). except home page google is not crawling any other internal pages. the cause behind is that all your internal pages have turned to supplimental pages. as you are not changing content and information in your internal pages, which is causing supplimental pages. make some changes in your internal pages and wait for feiw time till google is crawling your site

Yep, also you need to get quality inbound links, that will help you to get out from supplementary result.

Alongwith quality inbound links you also need unique content on every page of the site to avoid supplemental results pages.

thanks for your comments everyone, been making a number of changes throughout december and bulking up some content.
Starting to see some improvements - I have 26 pages indexed now, but almost all of my product pages are appearing as supplemental results in google. Is that because of parameters included in the url's? |
