Help - Any advice - site redesign.
Hello People,
I have a site that has long been No1 in google for its particular seach words. The site receivies between 15000 and 20000 unique hits a day, and it is working well with Adsense for me. The site is about a holiday resort and would need to be No1 in google for this coming season. Adsence is not my main concern as I have other advertising on the site paying a lot more than adsense. I have redesigned the site from nested tables to CSS, I have done some sample pages going for nested tables to CSS and the results seem to be good, with the other sites jumping a couple of places up in google. I was just seeking advice on the possible impact on the Seach Position, when switching to CSS. None of the links are changing, and the HREF content will be exactly the same, just using CSS and giving a nicer feel to the site. Any Ideas ?? Graham |

Using CSS has no effect on your rankings. But changing around of your HTML does since the search engines use them as clues to determine the relevance of your content for keywords. If you just changed to a CSS design, kept the other markup the same (headings, links) then you should be fine.
And if you are a solid #1 for your terms you probably won't have anything to worry about anyways. But just in case keep the old design handy just in case there is a problem. |

you also should consider how many backlinks you have...
