Few suggestions :
- check your html ... i realy belive that you cant put <font> tag inside of <hx>. you have an html checker at : http://validator.w3.org/ - get more links ! ![]() - get listed at dmoz. This will give you PR boost. My site instantly jumped from PR 3 to PR 5 after being listed at dmoz. And when you get higer PR, more people want to exchange links with you. Also note that because of the menu on the left, the text wich matters on your page is being shifted lover in the source code of html .... Get optimizing tutorials .... simply google for them. Or pay an pro to do it for you. ![]()

Thanks for you help.
I have tried to get listed at dmoz. I have submitted a couple of times with no luck. How many times can I submit to them, and how often. |

you have a much better chance to be listed on your subject-specific niche directories than on dmoz.

Submitting to DMOZ over and over won't help. Submissions can take anywhere for 2 weeks to two years depending on the editor for the catagory you're submitting to.

Relatively speaking, you don't have much content. Just a lot of images. Add some commentary about the manufacturers, their knives, their history, etc.
Also, move away from using tables for layout. It cuts your content-to-markup ratio down a lot. Switch to CSS. What are the search terms you are trying to optimize for? Take a look at the sites of your competitors who rank at the top for those terms. Check the source code. Learn from them. You may want to consider paying for placement. |

Backlinks and Anchor text. Google focuses a lot on those for sure. Try to exchange links with sites that have google PR4 or higher. If you have the cash I would recommend buying text links from high PR sites. There are a lot of factors that play into your google ranking and no one really knows for sure how things are weighted. SEOChat.com is a good site for SEO info.
