Help with SEO
I feel that Im oing OK with it.
On Keyword "Batemans Bay Real Estate" I rank pretty good in other sites but no-good in Google. If anyone could take a look at my homepage/site and offer any tips that would be great... I have read and emulated other sites and it just doesn't seem to help out much. http://www.realbayside.com.au/ Why??? SEO is pretty frustrating and I understand good results and processes are well kept secrets but a bit of light would be great |

do the sites linking to you use "Batemans Bay Real Estate" as link anchor? that's the key to be on top. Specially if the site that ranks you with this key has high pagerank

Looking at your code, though based on a table, you still have all the necessities. You use heading tags, alt attributes, etc...
How long has the site been around? If it is new, you can't expect to jump right to the top of the rankings. |

You could always get away from the table based design. That will improve your content to noise ratio. 3 months is probably long enough to see some improvement. Typically, I give changes a few weeks or a month to take effect.

So moving to a CSS positioned layout would/should help it out a lot more... Prolly won't be rebuilding this site, but future ones it sounds like the goer.. Cheers, |

I think working with html tables is correct. I'm sure that as long as you use HTML standards you won't have problems.

While I'm a big supporter of going over to CSS based layouts, your main problem at the moment is lack of links to the website. I'd say your SEO time is best spent getting some links to your pages from relevant places (like the one from www.realestatelogic.com.au, although it would be nice to get ones from places that aren't just a list of links.)
Once you've got some more incoming links you can start looking at sorting out your source code. You can look up your links by going to Google or Alltheweb and using link:http://www.realbayside.com.au as the search. Bear in mind these don't get updated very often in Google, so when a link goes in it might be a long time before it's on this list, though it does have an affect pretty quickly. NB: Successful SEO = clean and semantically correct HTML code, good textual copy, and a good number of links. It isn't secret, it's just work putting it all together. |
