Search engines such as Ask Jeeves and others in the Teoma search engine network require payment for every site they add to their index. I have read in various articles that they stopped this practice because they claim their search engine network can find almost every site out there without help.
How can I go about submitting our site to Ask Jeeves or Teoma without going through their payment-required site submittal portal?? The Teoma network is the only group of search engines that hasn't found our site after six months of being available. ![]() |

you don't need to submit your site to any search engines at all. All major search engines are smart enough to find your site if the site is linked by other indexed pages. This is true for askj/teoma. teoma crawls my site regularly, but it doesn't generate much traffic.

I am hearing the same response from others that Teoma doesn't generate much traffic.

Write and wrong, some search engines require search engine submission for the fact that they are indexing useless pages on the web.
and yes they still do charge, just not as much, mostly because ask jeeves is a engine in a world of its own :P http://www.teoma.com/ use this site mate http://www.globalpromoter.com/seo-tools/free-search-engine-submission.cfm |

We have submitted our site twice over the past two months with dmoz.org but have yet to see our submission listed in the directory. I spoken with several others who have submitted more times than that, all of which have legitimate sites, but cannot get themselves listed at dmoz.org. I am hoping we will not be ignored same as others. I am also wondering how many months will have to go by before we, if ever, find ourselves listed in at least one of their categories. ![]() |

I hope this was a month ago or more, because umm.....it takes a month for you to be indexed by any major search engin, lycos, msn, aol, yahoo, google. Unless you have priority (which is paid for engine listings, which means you set the interval which can be every 8, 10, 12, 24, 30 whatever amount of intervals you want in days) to get indexed! Other wise it will only hit your site (this is estimated) every 30 days

We submitted our site to the search engines over three months ago. The MSN preview technology has us indexed on a regular bi-weekly basis. The Teoma network has us indexed and a hand-full of meta-tag search engines have us listed.
Google and the ODP haven't listed us yet. Well, Google did have us listed and was indexing our site when this lovely new Google virus came along and Google had to refresh back to an earlier date. Now our site is showing a description from Google that is over 6 months old...one that says our site is under construction. Only the home page is listed with that speil and that is it. The dmoz.org submission is over two months old. |
