How long did it take you

Hi and good night to all you DevShed community members.

I would like to know how long did it take you all large forum owners to get your forum grown and established. I am interested in learning from others on the techniques that they used, steps taken, and anything else that they would like to inform me of.

I am eager in taking my community to the next level and I do understand that everything takes time.I want to be sure that I do things the correct in getting my forum from point A - B the correct way.

Thanks in advance.

hi,

google always keep good eyes upon the forums because forums are the source of knowledge. if you can stand your forums as a source of knowledge, that can be helpful for the browsers, then you can make your forum site an etablihed site within 2-3 years

I would suggest to create a blog relevant to your forum subject, it can be good source for generating quality & unique content.

I don't think people prefer to read article on forum unless and until its like devshed or seo chat forum, since there are multiple good source for articles like pr news site, newsletters, article directories, blog articles etc.

I always look for seo articles at forums and think you can promote your forum by writing articles for other forums with the links to yours. Then using your forum in your signature, but at first, of course, you'll need decent software and a group of volunteers to start posting.

Without regular members who contribute everyday forum won't gather the momentum to reach the great heights that you are thinking of.
Be sure you start with a few members but quality members. Initially instead of having too many forums have only a few important ones and as members increase you can keep adding new forums.
