How many domains shall i get ?
Hi,
I have one thing that puzzles me .... -> Domain Names <- I have one main domain (A). I have another domain (B) that redirects to the main domain (A). I am not really advertising this second domain yet (we don't have any advertising budget thus far, since we are not in production yet). I might buy two other domain names, which will link to (A). How effective is this? Will they be found by SE's or is advertising/link exchange the only way to go? How important is it really to get domain names, other than the main one? If someone could enlighten me, that would be great ![]() |

Might as well just advertise domain A. You will get twice the brand exposure, which is better than half exposure for two sites. As far as google is concerned, only one domain will rank. You cannot know if it will be A or B.

I agree with the post above, if you don't have unique content for each of the other domains.
IF you do, then you can get as many as you want and point them to your main site, and things should be alright. If you are going to have same content on the other domains, at least make sure they are not on the same server/hosting becasuse google can see this as spam, and it might actually hurt your rankings. |

I think if you have the same content on different servers is actually worse
Having on the same server will simply make google index just one of them and maybe no penalty if you are lucky. |
