I could use some help...
Hi everybody. I just started a new website and have no idea how to go about promoting it for Google or Yahoo. I need some publicity!! And there's another thing: yesteray I heard something interesting from a webmaster I know. He said that there's a new link-building software named rank1.info. Supposedly, it will create tons of backlinks for any sort of webpage at all. Have any of you heard anything about it, whether it really works, and so on? I'm a total newbie to this stuff, so I hope someone can give me some good advice.
Thanks in advance ![]() |

Hi, well you can add your homepage to google here, sson after googles little spiders will crawl your site. Try to find the add url for all the main search engines and search directories (yahoo/dmoz etc). Setting up appropriate keywords(meta tags) on your site can be important to some search engines. Have a look here for lots of information about how google searchs. This page is quite important (about site maps) Have a look at Devsheds sister forum, SEOchat for tons of info on search engine optimisation. Hope this helps. Displeaser

I would be wary of any programs which promise lots of links. This can cause you problem with the search engines.
Look for some lists of directories and submit to them. (URL address blocked: See forum rules) has a long list. Most are free. Join a free link exchange. Be selective about who you trade with. Getting a lot of links in a hurry in the beginning can actually slow you down. I know-getting links is work. But this is business. Another good way to get links is to write articles and submit to article banks. All free ideas. |

Also visiting blogs and leaving sincere comments with your link will help. People usually return the visit. Approaching like websites and request a link exchange with them is also a good way to build up backlinks.
That website sounds like it is using some type of Black Hat SEO which can actually get your site banned from the search engines. Beware. |

Good advice, but I thing the OP is just advertising the rank1 site instead of actually asking for help. A quick search on the net shows hes posted the same question to every forum in town Displeaser |

Sounds suspect

This so-called software would have to hack a lot of web servers to install your links. Sounds suspect! |
