Impact of SSI INCLUDE tag on indexing and positioning
There are some active links in the footer area of my website which is common to all the pages. I am trying to use SSI (Server Side Include) to add these links to each page through an include file.
Will usage of the SSI “INCLUDE” tag in all the pages of the web site affect the search engine indexing and positioning of the individual pages? Thanks, Kathy |

You are OK to use includes for common features such as navigation links.
Search engines read your pages pretty much as a browser does so the included file will be parsed and read as regular html page content.

It makes no difference, as the engines cant see it. The server passes the pages to the engines as it does to a human eye.
