Index.html file in google analytics
Hi all
I have a site that is all php but for some reason numerous index.html files are getting a large number of hits according to google analytics. The html files do not exist. Any idea why that would be? I do have a redirect in .htaccess that makes any request for index.html or index.php redirect to the folder that the file is contained within but I don't see why that would have any affect on this issue. Thanks in advance |

Just use index.php file and don't try to comply with anything that Google's says. It is just a private company not a universal web standard.

I'd still like to know how to read the stats though.
If index.php gets 1200 hits and index.html gets 1100 hits, does that mean that my homepage got 2300 hits? Thanks again |
