Is it a good idea to try to make money through affiliates?
Has anyone here made a successful website that has earned them a profit? I'm not talking about money earned by selling products or anything like that, what i mean is, has any one made a profit from affiliates, such as banners (like banner clicks, site sign-ups, etc.)? Is it possible to have a site and earn some profit through affiliates? Is it worth it?

You can make a profitable content site; i.e., make money through advertisement publishing => affiliate programs(in a sense). I am not just talking about sites like http://www.nytimes.com/, http://www.wsj.com/ and http://www.usatoday.com/; there are number of sites that came from nowhere but making some profit which include number of IT/Web design related sites.

It really depends on what you value. As far as revenue and profitability is concerned, it's really up to how you build this ... content site. |
