Are there any alternatives to ISAPI_rewrite?
I need URL rewriting capabilities to enhance my SEO, but my hosting provider ain't willing to get a server license and I'm certainly not going to buy a license... My question is... Are there any alternatives?, Should I go for a slower PHP-based system instead?. Thanks. |

A much better alternative is IIS Mod-Rewrite from micronovae.com. It also supports .htaccess files, like apache mod_rewrite. The .htaccess support might be an appealing solution for your provider, but they need to pay a license too...
There is also a free rewrite addon for IIS URL Replacer from motobit.com , but it's not that quality. There are crash reports. Another free solution is IIRF. Poor features, but free. |

Here is a PHP solution that should work on IIS.
May need a bit of tweaking though: Search Engine friendly URLS with or without mod_rewrite
