keyword count on my index page is not sufficient
hi
![]() i am slowly getting my page done and this post is in regard to SEO, i read a few articles about it and right now i think i am using (what everyone refers to as) cloaking. Now, i do not want to do this. My index page does not contain much text though and i thought by including a hidden layer with some relevant text in it, i could reflect on the keywords in the meta tags. I realized that webbots come by frequently (google almost daily) but they only index the one page. Could that be because of this hidden layer? the page is on http://www.chocolateriewanders.com .... check out the source, the hidden layer is 'topbox' thank you for reading .... maybe you have a suggestion as to how i could resolve this without the hidden layer ... |

Hey Kaskudoo,
Unless you add the hidden layer as visible text on a page linked from the index page and include the link in your google site map you might shake the design by including it (which would be a shame). As for the 'cloaking' issue, I'm hazarding a guess that you'll be OK. Run your domain URL through here to 'see' what the spider sees. ATB |

mh, thank you for your answer hombre
![]() i read in various places, that google does in fact compare the visible content (visible to humans) and content visible through the eyes of a (web)spider .... i think i found a solution though ... i might make the index page similar to the 'links' page i already have. the only difference i will make is, that the scrollabr will be disabled. i doubt that the spider is so smart - although you never know ![]() keep the fingers crossed ![]() |

Sounds like you've got a good solution Kaskudoo, and hey, what do those spiders know anyway!!
