Keywords - limit?
Hi,
My site is: http://www.expolands.com/ I want to find out what the search keyword limit is for the home page? Ive seen a lot of threads on search optimisation - mainly concentrating on external links to your website and meta tags. However I havent come across anything on the keyword limit, a ratio above which search engines such as Google and Yahoo will reject a site based on repetetive keywords. Please see the above URL - my keywords/phrases are "land" and "sri lanka" , and also "real estate" with less importance. I'm worried I have TOO many "land" and "Sri Lanka" words all over - including the image "alt" tags. Awaiting any kind of help and advice on this, Thanks a BILLION, Rish |

Hi jus thought I would say none of your alt tags are appearing so make sure you have a look at sorting them out.
I think you only have land written 6 times which I think is reasonable. I am signed up with bcentral who give you advice for optimisation and they recommend no more than 2-3 keywords per image, as well as also describing the image too and they also say no more than a brief sentence or 2 to describe the image. Other things they mention are keywords in hyperlinks if possible and the use of heading e.g. <h1> tags. |

Alt tags are supposed to be text descriptions of your images. Your site is using them correctly on your nav buttons, but not on the images or the logo. From the W3C:
The generic rule for the content of the alt attribute is: use text that fulfills the same function as the image. Some more specific rules:
