Listed: Yahoo can, Google cannot (popup?)
Does this make sense?
We have a page that is listed on Yahoo, but not on Google, similiar to the one below. http://www.domain.com/thisPage.aspx?id=2 However, also on the site we link to the same page (thisPage.aspx) as a popoup, like this... javascript:newWindowWin('thisPage.aspx?id=2&header=no') Would this possibly keep this page (non-popup) from being listed on Google (MSN, Lycos as well)? Thanks in Advance, Andrew |

If it has already indexed the first page, then I wouldn't have thought this would make it change its mind. However, you should use proper <a> links for pop-ups wherever possible, then modify their behaviour with JavaScript. This means search engines and the significant number of users without JavaScript will get a normal link, rather than a broken link.
Google may be less keen to index your pages if you use a GET string at the end of URLs a lot. A single argument style page should, I believe, be indexed almost as readily as static pages by Google, but search engine friendly URLs may be worth considering. |
