Mastering Google....

Hi, I have had some of my previous websites ranked top in Google. But my key words i was going for were quite niche. (uk graffiti)

This time, im trying to get a Car website up there.

My graffiti website had hundreds of links to it from other sites, which it probably why I was so high.

But this new site im trying to promote will not really ever be linked perminently from other websites?

http://www.theamericancarexperience.com

I have a couple of questions.

is:

http://www.theamericancarexperience.com/ford/ford.html

better than

http://www.theamericancarexperience.com/ford.html ?

And the only other thing I know helps in google is <title> and <h1> taggs.

Any other tipps anyone?

Also im kind of hoping i may get index'd from here?
Should that work?

Many Thanks.

I would advise you getting as many RELEVANT links to your site as possible. The higher the page rank of the site linking to yours, the better off you are. Optimization of your site is important, and that includes title tags, other meta tags, and of course, CONTENT.
Check out the top article at www.seochat.com, it's about getting listed in google quickly. i just had a read, it's quite good.

Girl who needs help

Hi

I am new to this forum and have been reading any information that has been supplied on it. It has been great help and has helped me understand a bit more of getting ranked on Google. I have yet to get ranked on Google but my site is still pretty new.

5 months ago I had no idea the first thing in creating a website. Thanks to my husband and just about anything I have been able to find on the net I have learned my share.

Currently I am working on link exchange but was wondering if anyone can please suggestion anything I can do to improve my site.

This is the link to my site http://www.yourdress.ca/ and I really do appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you so much
Dee

gat - the second way is better only if you introduce more keywords, redundat ones are ignored. Also the more directory levels down, the less likely it will be indexed, but one or two sub levels should be ok.

...so use:
mycars.com/ford/mustang/ford-mustang-gt.html

...but dont use:
mycars.com/ford/ford/ford.html

yourdress - first you do not have a top level domain such as:
.com, .net, .edu, or .org which does actually hurt your rankings initially. Now about your site:

- your site has pictures which have text on them (spiders cant read text off images.). You should do 1 of two things :
a) use the alt tags to describe each image
b) convert images to text content

- You have few links in your content to other places on your site.. try adding more.

- You use tables and CSS, spiders love CSS but dislike tables, so see if you can convert more tables to css (which actually cause your page to load faster)

- make sure your keywords saturation isn't too high

- be patient and wait for the site rank to change takes 1-3 months after you update your site.

Hi Avitar,

First off thanks for such a quick response. I thought creating the site was going to be the hard job but in the end I think most of my work is going into getting it rated. I have thought many times about paying someone to help me with this but am worried about paying out money for someone who might just give me the same result. Also the fact with me trying to open a shop has caused my wallet to get pretty small.

I knew the .ca would cause some problems but my reason for it was due to the fact it is a Canadian business and am trying to reach Canadian customers.

Now when you said I don't have enough links in my content and try adding more, do you mean more content or more links?

Thank you so much again Avitar.
