hey guys, that description tag really pissed me off. When I enter it to my pages google indexes what I enter but when I don't enter it google get pages description from the page's content which is good because you can't enter loads of words to the description tag son when somebody search something my content also enters to the Serps. I'm gonna remove desc tag from all my pages because my opponent doesn't enter it and in serps' he also gets a good impression that he got that content check it out here please,,
google result first two result is my opponents and the third result is mine but his description is better than mine and appealing the visitors well. Removing is the best way everbody can do because in searches google will also get results from your pages content google indexed me recently and I dont know when it'll do it again and I'm really angry. Gimme an advice. Lots of my pages are asp and i can arrange some codes for description tag but it'd be meaningless because i want to get whole content in google so when you search with different keyword, serps will be stronger than just one description. |

Why not add a decent description tag to each page that highlites what you want to be indexed? Gives you better indexing, more keywords, and lets searches know what the page is rather then a sentence of two that can be taken out of context.
If you're using a dynamic site, it should be even easier to generate a unique description based on what the page is actually displaying. If you can do this, the description tag may not get you ranked higher, but it will aid your visitors in finding what they want when they look at the SE's results. |

I'd agree that it would be worth sticking with the meta description tag. That way you control what the engines display to the user in results pages.
If you haven't done so already it might be worth seeing how many backlinks your competitors site has (in Google link:http://www.your competitor.com/) Maybe thats a factor. ATB |

The higher the PR of the page linking to you, the better.
Keep the links coming from quality sites that are relevant to yours. Don't get involved in link farming, or you'll be penalized. Check out seo chat for more info. Hope that helps.

The third result in your google quesry is not hte same site that you linked to. Check to see if you are still showing up in google. I wonder if you're being in China (as I suppose from the .cn extension) is a factor.
In any case, I wouldn't recommend removing the description tag.
