Some of the basics when it comes to SEO and getting high ranking in search engines starts with using a keyword and then placing it strategically throughout the website in content, title, headline, etc. Using the keyword multiple times in your content is great, but lets look at something that a lot of websites completely overlook.
Simply put…. Take your keywords and current links within your site and USE them! What I mean by this is, you have certain keywords that are spread across your website. You also have links going to other websites, affiliates, advertising, resources, etc. Combine your links with * Relevant * keywords and you will see an increase in page rank and traffic due to the increase in PR. Just take a few minutes – scan through your site – find links that may be the name of a company, anything that says “partner” or “affiliate” -- Change them! Make them say anything related to your main keywords. Follow this strategy, it takes just a few minutes and this plus other simple strategies will add up to a good increase when your key words are searched for in search engines. matt_m's right about the PR, and you've got to watch for overstuffing sites with keywords...

All sound advice -- good call on the watch your keyword density. Generally, you don't want any one word to own more than 7% of your single words on the page. It may seem like a lot, but thousands of sites are downgraded (or dropped completely) each week due to keyword stuffing.

Listen only to good SEO advice!
bad advice!
why are so many so called seo's so mis-informed? What you are discussing is the wrong thing to do - it is taxing and provides very little change in your site. What you should do is get content all on specific topics within one major subject matter. Next you should build your keywords from your content not the other way around. Last you need to eliminate things that have little to do with your website such as "fun", "games" or "misc.". i am not going to list all the ways to do that but here are some good resources: How to serve your web site as SEO and Web Developer SEO Guy SEO Chat

Search Engine Optimization Phenomenon
Hello Friends
I am quite amazed at various techniques of Search Engine Algorithms. Yesterday I observed a strange phenomenon. The website www.seohawk.com has a PR of 3 whereas all deep links have PR 4-5. I am really amazed at this phenomenon. If anyone knows whats up with the PR in this case do let me know regards raj |

______________________________________________________ Well, thats true, different Sarch engine periodically change their strategy on keywords, though it is important factor that you should assess the keyword density of a particular search engine, however there are still debate on this issue, both yahoo and MSN tolerate higher density of keywords as compared with Search engine leader google. Obviously it depends upon your specific need whether you give priority for keyword tolerance of particular SE and accordingly optimizing your keyword or not. |
