Multiple domain names w/ same content.
This client I have currently has 4 or 5 domain names registered w/ hosting that feature the same content. He claims to have been banned from google. Is this against one of google's rules for illegal SEO? If I tell him to take all but one of them down, can he get "unbanned"?

It may be against their terms, to try submit more than 1. But its surely fine to have more than 1 domain, I do.

yes
yes they can ban you for doing that. I read an article about it. They only let you do that in some cases.
