MY forums

I'm having trouble getting people to come to my forums. They have over 40 message boards, which will probably provide something for everyone to talk about. While it's mainly aimed at video game creators and video gamers, there's music discission and some other stuff too.

How would I get some traffic and more to visit? Where could I advertise, what's convincing? How could I improve?

You could check out www.theforumzone.com for info on building a forum community. I have some advertising available there too that may be helpful for you.

there're two types of users in any forums - newbies and experts. A successful forum always has more tahn one reasons for both types of users to come back again and again.

I use Adwords for one of my forums and have been pretty successful with it. It can be pricey after awhile, but if you consider it as an investment in your forum it's worthwhile IMO.
