Need to increase search engine ranking on my friends site..

his url: birminghamautogas.co.uk.
he wants me to do SEO to increase the rank. I have included meta tags on the main page, but was wondering if i need them on every page. also if people could tell me some other tips for increasing page ranks, that would be helpful.

The best boost to page rank is to be linked to from a page with a high page rank.

I would suggest that you include meta tags on every page, relevent to that pages content.

Another thing to consider is adding some more content to the home page to give the SE's something to bit on - maybe a brief paragraph about each section with a link (optimized with title attributes) for those sections.

Get a Google Analytics account and submit a Google Sitemap.

I would add some more content to the front page. There is hardly any text, so the engines wont have much to index on.

Then, focus on building inbound links. On your links page you should ask for people to submit quality sites and to link to you in return. As long as the sites are high quality and relevant it will make a significant difference to your page rank.
