Hi all,
I have just finished my new website. I have no idea about advetising and getting hits to my website. Any suggestion where to start, to develpe links and some analysis for the website. I also need some optimization.

I'm still a newbie to SEO myself, but for what it's worth....

there's loads of great info in this forum, and elsewhere on the net - i found this one quite useful http://search-engine-optimization.e...e/SEO_guide.htm .
There are also some good books - SEO for Dummies is a great place to start...

These are the few things that you can try:
Clearly mention on your site that you want links and explain them why it will help.
Actively participate in online forums and discussion groups with your signatures.
Post press release about your website from a good provider.
Write articles related to your website and post them online with the help of google.
I use free directories, free viral marketing, Blogs, link exchange, classifieds, free articles and press release, these help me to generate targeted traffic.
