Obtaining a High Search Engine Ranking for Keywords

Hello,

We submitted our site, www.wellingtoncase.com, to the major search engines (Google etc) in April of this year. Even though we know there is more to it than these 2 factors, We do have a pagerank of 3 and are listed in several directories. However, we still are not coming up in search results for our keywords. We are not even in the top 500 for any of our main keywords, such as custom cases and shipping cases. Any thoughts and/or advice would be very helpful. Thank you.

We have and we have read through many a tutorial and all of them have different opinions on the matter. We were just hoping someone here could shed some more light on the situation.

Send a message via MSN to dominoman
You need inbound links from other sites using those keywords in the link text.

goole ranks search results by more than 100 factors - on-pages and off pages factors. some of on-page factors includ keyworks in title, in bold in h tag in links. some of off-page factors include keywords in backlinks and relevance of link pages etc.

Hi. I have taken a look at your website and can offer these suggestions that may help you.

The two keywords you list are very competitive and its unlikely you'll see results on them. I don't know what method you used to find your keywords but I think they are a little too broad and competitive to give you the results you want.

Here's an example, I notice you sell Telescope Cases but I don't see the word "Telescope Case" as any of your keyword phrases. Just incase your wondering, "Telescope Case" gets searched over 350 times a month and has almost no one competing for it. This means you are almost guaranteed to come out on top in the search engines with little optimization. And...a Telescope Case is something you sell, which means your most likely to get a conversion on the click (which is ultimately what everyone wants). Read my article about targeted keywords.

Because the level of competition on telescope case is low, your level 3 page rank should be good enough to get good results. If you had a page rank of 6+ you may be able to make some changes and get ranked for those original keywords but right now, I would suggest re-visiting your keywords.

My website has some information that may help you. If you still have more questions, I would be glad to provide you some keyword assistance or search engine optimization (FREE). Just contact me. Hope this helps.
