Question about Images
do images from external sources help you page-rank wise?
For example I will include this image(no link or ALT attribute): ![]() its source website is partially related to this forum because it's about PHP Programming. My question is: will that site get credit because devshed forums linked to it?

Very interesting question. I suspect not because you are simply including someone else's content. You are linking OUT to the image, not in.
In the same way that if you linked to a PR8 page from your site you receive no credit for it. The only positive effect could be if someone on a PR8 page linked to an image on your site - but not the other way around.

No credit will be given to either of the sites on the main google search page. It would be all to easy for people play the system and try to increase there page rank. Though saying that it does have a slight play on the image ranks. Which is considered a seperate search. Thanks Matt |

Images do aquire equity, sorry drain your site of equity, so all this will do as mattaseymour says is help to rank thier image in image search a bit more, but with no alt attribute it won't do much for them.
This is only good for people futher down in image search for that image, as thier images will be stolen less often. Jaz |
